The first impression: Golden Genie is a foreign operator without a Belgian licence. For that reason, this is mainly interesting if you already know the brand.

What the law imposes
On player protection, Belgium sits considerably more strictly than a few years ago and it is built that way on purpose. The standard limit runs to €200 per week per site. Downwards it goes without an intermediate step, raising runs through a verification and then a waiting window.
EPIS is the Gaming Commission's central exclusion system: a single request is enough to stay out everywhere at once. Unlicensed sites are not connected to it. Under-21s have been shut out of casino, hall and betting since September 2024; only the National Lottery stays at 18. The check is automatic.

What players ask us
Can I have myself blocked?
By filing an EPIS request with the regulator; it applies at once across the licensed landscape. Physical venues will refuse you afterwards too. Registration runs through the Gaming Commission.
How much may I deposit per week?
€200 per week per site by default. Lowering it is immediate; raising it needs a check and a delay. The limit applies per site, not across all sites. At unlicensed sites that protection does not exist.
How does wagering work?
A bonus is only worth something once you convert the wagering into euros. Bonus money and own money are often counted separately. Check whether your game counts before you start.
Is Golden Genie legal in Belgium?
Not legal in the Belgian sense: Golden Genie operates without a Gaming Commission licence. The list is public on gamingcommission.be. You can check this yourself in the regulator's register.
Is there tax on winnings?
Not for the player. Belgium taxes the operator, not the winner. The operator remits the levy, not the player. This has been the Belgian rule for years.
